OMG! I slept in until 9.45 AM and got to the gym around 15 minutes late for the Zumba class. The class was awesome! The instructor name was Antonio. His class was packed on this Saturday morning.
What strike me was the numbers of guys in the class. There were many of them and they can dance very well!
My favorite Zumba class in Canberra was with Shirley from Club Lime on Wednesdays at 4.30 PM. There was only one guy in the class and somehow I think he is mentally challenged. The other classes that I really like is on Tuesdays morning with Julia. It is really rare to see any guys at Zumba class.
After Zumba, I went to the gym’s hot pools. There I chatted with a guy in English and asked him where do the locals do their groceries. He said the young ones like to shop at the supermarket because it was easy and clean but the older generation like to go to the market. He recommended me to check out the Mercado Central de Atarazanas (Central Market at Altarazanas). So I walked about 15 minutes to the market from the gym. It was a pleasant walk.
Passing through the residential areas, it seems like the locals do recycles well 🙂
The market was awesome!! I talked a lot with the sellers. They were very patience with my Spanish. One of the sellers tried to speak English with me and I told him I’m here to learn Spanish and ask him if he can please speaks Spanish with me instead. He did and taught me some phrases.
The tomatoes are so big and everything looks very fresh here.
I was hungry and saw some people ate standing near a stall so I tried the food there as well. It was really nice.
I decided go back to the Club Hispanico by bus. It took around 1 hour to get back and I had to walk up the hill for about 15 minutes. It was a good exercise but I don’t think I’ll do this very often.
On the way back, I took photos of the beach. It was so cloudy but there were still many people there.
I was so tired today and had siesta for about 4 hours!
After that I organised my flash cards, did a bit of revision and updated this blog.
