Travel Note – Seoul Day 4 – More Shopping

Friday, 2 August 2013

For shopping in Seoul, I have two favorite places so far.

1. Myeongdong shopping district

You can find anything that you like here. Their specialty is beauty and cosmetics products but there are some cute shoes shops, dresses and international chains shopping outlets such as Zara, H&M and Forever21.

Zara outlet was on sale when I was there. There was a top that I bought for almost A$60 went down to 12,000 Won or around A$12 in that shop. I also bought some jumpers for 9,000 Won or around A$ 9 there.

The best thing about the international brands is they have western size in stock. So it was good for the Husband. We got him a lot of shorts ranging from 17,000 Won (around A$17) to 29,000 Won (A$ 29) and some tops ranging from 9,000 Won (A$9) to 29,000 Won (A$ 29). The Husband was making a remark on how expensive the t-shirt that I got him from Saba in Canberra centre was. I bought it for around A$ 130 because it was not on sale.

The shops in Myeongdong area opens from 9-9.30 am to 10 pm. There are street vendors in the afternoon until 10 pm. They sell food, clothes, knock off accessories and many other things.

Here are some photos of products sold in Myeongdong:

2. Ewha Women’s University shopping area

This is to continue with my previous post. Prices from this area is around 5,000 Won (A$5) to around 80,000 Won (A$80). I found the better quality clothes are the one around 50,000 Won (A$50).

More photos from the shops in this area:

The Husband was patiently waiting outside in one of the shops πŸ™‚

There was a giant shoe statue that reminds me of the one I saw at Versailles in France πŸ™‚

At night, I went back to Myeoungdong area again for some street food, atmosphere and “a bit” of shopping πŸ™‚
