We went to Vollaire mountains region today. The road trip was definitely the most interesting that I have done so far.
It was also our last day in Annecy. We were driving to Nice via the Vollaire mountains region. It was good that we left really early, at around 7.30 am in the morning, because we arrived at Nice at around 10 pm at night.
If we went direct to Nice, it would only be a 4 hours drive. The long hours via the mountains were really worth it.
– In the morning we stopped at the Annecy lake again for the last time.
– We stopped somewhere in a small town called Saint-Martin-d’Arc to buy pastries for breakfast
The shop sells a lot of yummy pastries and also sweet things:
We stopped in a scenic location not far from the town to eat our pastries
– The road up to the mountains were windy and steep with a lot of hairpin turns. Very exiting indeed!
– We saw a lot of cyclists going up the mountains. It seems like there were more cyclists went up col du Galibier than Telegraphe.
I applaud their commitment and determination. Riding up those mountains might be a life dream for some of them.
Some more photos on the restaurant , food & scenery that we saw on that day. Photos replacing things that can’t be express in words.
