Today we went to Switzerland for a day. I saw the cheese making process for the first time in my life.
– When we drove to Geneva, we were stopped at the border because the rental car didn’t have a sticker permit to go to Switzerland. We had to pay €40 for the sticker. There was “12” written on it so we thought it should be for the whole year.
– There were not many people in Geneva on Sunday morning when we came. But there was really traffic when we tried to go out because there were lake festival there.
– We stopped for breakfast at the Pain Paillasse bread shop in the city centre.
We found food is more expensive in Geneva than in France. This chocolate drinks costs CHF 6.5
The dogs are allowed to get in some restaurants and shops in France & Switzerland.
Some photos of Geneva
This fountain reminds me of the fountain at the lake Burley-Griffin in Canberra.
I saw most shops are closed and they had bars in front of the glass windows.
I took photo of the cost of this helmet for my brother. For comparison, he can buys two motorcycles in Indonesia for the same price of a helmet in Geneva.
At parking places there were signs like this. I supposed it’s like chip or something.
We went to the Gruyere castle. Lovely scenery!
Then we went to the Gruyere mansion to see the cheese making process
We had to pay CHF 7 per person to get in and we got a free sample of cheese
I saw the way they made cheese there
Then we went to the shop for some cheese & bread to take for another picnic on the mountain.
These are some of the things they sell in the shops
The cafe in the Gruyere mansion has interesting interior
We had a picnic in the mountain until we got chased by the cows! It was indeed a very interesting experience!
These were the guys that chased us 🙂
We had to find another scenic place & this one turned out not bad at all.
On the way back, we saw that they sell Cannabis tea in the vending machine 🙂
We had some Swiss money left and the CHF coins was made in 1968. We kept that as a souvenir and spend the rest on food & magazine.
Some towns that we passed along the way:
I posted a postcard for my nieces from Switzerland.
We made one more stop before going back to Annecy. We sat on the bench over looking lake Geneva, had some drinks and talked & laughs. I don’t think the photo do any justice on how beautiful the place is.
