Tomorrow morning I’ll be leaving to Indonesia and will be flying with Garuda Indonesia.
As far as I know Garuda Indonesia’s reputation in Australia is not really good because of their safety issues. I used to be really worried as well.
But lately we travel more with Garuda Indonesia than with other airlines because they have improved their service and so far I have had good experience flying with them.
I reckon for flying in to Jakarta from Sydney, Garuda Indonesia is a must airline to travel with. This is because 1. we can pay the visa on arrival at the Sydney airport instead of queuing in Jakarta airport and 2. they have immigration officers on board who will check our passports and stamp them so we don’t have to queue in the immigration line at Soekarno-Hatta airport. This is a big plus because if we are unlucky (such as if our flight comes in at the same time with the the plane from the UAE that carries a lot of Indonesian workers), without this service we can be stuck for a long time queuing at immigration.
One thing unpleasant that we experienced with Garuda Indonesia was when we flew from Amsterdam to Sydney with stop over in Bali. We got 30kg each from Europe and the luggage went through okay. But when we arrived in Bali, the ground staff told us that we only got 20kg each! I tried to argue that it was an in bound flight to no avail so we had to pay around $150 for the over weight fee.
So today after work I cleaned the apartment and then went out for dinner with some girl friends.
This is what I wore to work earlier. I forgot to take another photo when I went for dinner wearing a different outfit.
